Development System

If agreed players can be assessed using an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) which tracks:

  • Game understanding
  • Physical development
  • Areas for improvement

This ensures clear communication between coach, player, and parent.

What is an (ILP)?

An Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is a structured development system used to track a player's progress over time. It allows both the player and coach to clearly understand goals, strengths, areas for improvement, and measurable growth through consistent training and evaluation.

Rather than just attending sessions without direction, the ILP creates a clear development pathway where each player is assessed, guided, and supported on their individual needs.

Why use an (ILP)

If a player is serious about improving, the ILP is one of the most effective ways to measure progress and ensure development is actually happening. It gives structure to training and removes guesswork about what needs to improve.

Benefits of (ILP)

  • Builds trust between player, parent, and coach
  • Provide clear and honest feedback after training blocks
  • Ensure players understand exactly what they need to work on
  • Track improvement over time in a measurable way
  • Create motivation, discipline, and accountability.

Purpose of the (ILP)

  • Support long-term player development, not just short-term
  • Builds accountability and self-discipline in athletes
  • Helps Players understand their development
  • Creates a professional training environment similar to elite academy standards.

This system is for players who want to improve with intention.

If a player is committed, the ILP provides a clear pathway for development, honest feedback, and measurable improvements over time.
